Kids In The Hood

Announcement    Hi and welcome! I first learned to knit when I was four years old and as a child helped my mum to knit garments for all the family. I have been knitting and crocheting for family, friends and most of all for pleasure ever since. Now that I have taken early retirement I have even more time and it has become a passion! I started giving these hoodies and blankets as gifts and the response was so fantastic that I now knit/ crochet them to order and I love it! Whether you are looking for something for your own child or as a gift I hope you will love these as much as I love making them.

This blanket exceeded ALL of my expectations! It is so much more beautiful in real life than the photo gives credit for. The colours are vibrant and expertly sequenced, and the texture of the yarn is soft and pliable. As for the 'workwomanship'... exquisite! Thank you very much!

Tricia, I cannot thank you enough for the beautiful hoodie you made for my son Kiran . It arrived yesterday and I just could not believe my eyes when I unwrapped it. It is just PERFECT! The colours are even better in real life then appeared in the photos. It shows that it was made with lots of love, care and attention to EVERY detail. The quality of workmanship is just great. I would most defiantely buy again without hesitation. Great talent. Thanks Tricia.

Hi, I'm Tricia. Welcome to my passion! I have been knitting & crocheting since I was four years old. Throughout my childhood I helped mum knit garments for all the family, including socks for my dad!! Later, I knit for my own children. Their sweaters, often with pictures of favourite cartoon characters, were so admired that I started knitting for others, as time allowed. Once my children were grown the pressure of work commitments took over and I stopped knitting altogether, until one of my nieces had her baby and requested I hand knit some garments for her 'because hand knitted stuff is more individual and personal than shop-bought', she said. And that, combined with early retirement and the births of several more babies in the family, gave birth to my passion for knitting hoodies, crocheting blankets etc and the response to them has been fantastic! Requests to make them have come flooding in and Kids In The Hood was born! Although I do knit and crochet many other things, like intricately patterned baby dresses and shawls for christenings etc, children's hoodies and baby blankets are now my speciality and my joy.
